Wine lovers! Have you ever wondered about the process it takes to get the wine you’re drinking from the vineyard and into the bottle? Does the artistry of winemaking fascinate you? Or have you thought to yourself, “How much work does it take to run a vineyard?”
Tim and Kelly are hosting a series of hands-on discussions about the winemaking process out of the Hightower Cellars tasting room, located on their estate vineyard, beginning on February 24th, from 4-6 PM. This first event deals with the process of pruning the vines at the beginning of the season. Attendees will get to join Tim and Kelly in the vineyard as they demonstrate how to prune a vine and explain the significance of pruning to the winemaking process. Then participants will get to try pruning a vine for themselves, after which the group will go into the tasting room and do a barrel tasting of the prior year’s wine made from the same vines, followed by light hors d’œuvres and the chance to ask Tim and Kelly questions about the winemaking process.
Tickets are $20 per person and $15 for wine club members.
