Wine club members! The second Winemaker Sessions class is coming up on Saturday, April 22nd from 4-6 pm. If you are asking yourself, “What’s that?” A brief recap: Tim and Kelly are hosting a series of hands-on discussions about the Hightower winemaking process. In our first session on pruning, attendees joined Tim and Kelly in the vineyard as they demonstrated how to prune a vine and explained the significance of pruning to the winemaking process followed by attendees pruning a few vines themselves.
In our next session covering the art of blending, attendees will learn about flavor and textural balance in wine, as well as the unique process that Tim and Kelly go through to create their blends each year and then try making a blend themselves. The class will be followed with a Q&A time with Tim and Kelly over light hors d’oeuvres and a tasting of Hightower wines.
In order to allow for people to get the most out of this unique opportunity, attendance is limited to 16 for this session. Tickets are offered to Wine Club Members first - please respond by April 12th, if you can attend. Tickets are $25 for wine club members. ($30 for non members)
Upcoming topics in the Winemaker Sessions: grape vine shoot thinning for optimal sun exposure, the role of verasion and green thinning in wine making, red wine fermentation and tannin management, and more!
